Bryan County, ($2.2M)
R.B. Baker Construction has completed construction on a new stretch of road in South Bryan County that will ease the heavy traffic flow on Ga. 144. Baker began the project in August and completed it on December 11, 2012. The 2.2 million contract consisted of subgrade prep, base course, laying 15,000 tons of asphalt, striping, signage and stabilization. Bryan County, granted the contract to Baker as the prime contractor and it was completed on time and within budget.
The new Harris Trail extension will connect Belfast River Road to the existing Harris Trail Road just east of Port Royal Road. The 3 mile extension should ease a lot of traffic burden on residential commuters in Bryan County.
